Frequently asked questions
We aim to maintain complete transparency with you regarding our treatments. Here are some frequently asked questions to address common concerns. However, if you feel your question hasn’t been addressed, please don’t hesitate to reach out, and we’ll be sure to respond promptly!
Piercing
We are a needle based piercing studio. This is the industry standard to ensure precision, safety and hygiene. A needle piercing doesn’t hurt more than a gun.
We use ASTM-136 implant grade titanium and solid 14crt gold for all of our piercing options.
Every piece of jewellery we use in our studio is carefully selected to insure the best healing experience. We only pierce with jewellery sourced in our store for we would not be able guarantee your healing experience to be correct with the jewellery we’re not familiar with.
Not to worry we offer virtual check-ups via email or our Instagram. Simply send us some clear images of your piercing with an update on how it’s been and we will respond to you within 48-hours. We can also arrange video calling if you would prefer.
Depending on the piercings we suggest to do no more than 3 piercings per person in one sitting. For example you’re allowed 3 in one ear. Multiple piercings across different areas of the body may be tricky to heal.
We do not recommend submerging any new piercing in the sea or in swimming pools as this may increase the risk of irritation or infections.
Try and take it easy after getting pierced. Excessive partying or drinking straight after getting pierced can cause excessive swelling and bleeding. We suggest doing your piercing towards the end of your trip if you’re visiting.
Tooth Gems
The process is the same as braces, we clean the tooth, protect the enamel, and then using adhesive, we apply the crystal or gold piece of your choice.
The duration is entirely up to you! We use top-quality dental-grade products on the market to ensure the longevity of your new tooth adornment. We usually recommend 6 months – 1 year however duration can be effected by lifestyle and after care.
Nope! There are no drills, no holes, no pain & no problem!
You have to be 18 years of age to do a tooth gem with valid physical ID. You can get a tooth gem from the age of 16 but you need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and both have valid physical ID. Please note we do not accept photocopies or pictures of IDs. We may also ask for proof of guardianship.
We suggest not eating or smoking for 3 hours after the application of your tooth jewellery. We also strongly suggest you don’t drink anything too hot or cold during that time. Avoid hard/ sticky and coloured foods for 48 hours.
Totally, we understand you like to change up your style; the same way you might change your hair or piercings, Tooth gems are completely reversible with no damage. Simply go to your local dentist or hygienist for safe removal. Just ask for a scale and polish, this painless treatment will clean your tooth and it’ll be like nothing was ever there.
Unfortunately no. tooth gems may not adhere well to veneers or false teeth in the long run. For instance, if you have veneers only on your front teeth, we can apply the gems onto your natural teeth instead!
Potentially.. But do not worry. All the products we use are completely safe for oral use. If a gem comes loose, it will simply fall out harmlessly. Any residual product on your tooth can be easily and swiftly removed with a scale and polish by your local dentist or hygienist.
Tooth gems won’t interfere with your ability to brush your teeth because a protective barrier is applied to safeguard the enamel and prevent plaque accumulation. Similar to braces being on for years without an issue, your gem will pose no problem. Continue your regular oral hygiene routine by brushing at least twice a day, flossing, and maintaining your usual visits to the hygienist. We do however suggest not to brush brush your teeth within 3 hours of application. We also suggest to limit the use of electric tooth brushes for the first 48 hours.
Although everything we use is completely safe, there is still not enough research to definitively say that it is safe to do during pregnancy, therefore airing on the side of caution we recommend to come back after you’ve given birth.
